What’s Involved
Why Participate?
We know that when passionate people with diverse skills and experiences work together magic happens in the form of active learning and innovative outputs.
In this datathon participants will:
1. Analyse telehealth utilisation pre/during COVID and the impact on the wellness routines of those with behavioural health conditions.
2. Predict post-COVID telehealth utilisation in longer-term management of behavioural health conditions.
Resources and Event Schedule
On Tuesday 1 December (AEDT) teams will be given access to the dataset, challenge questions and resource hub. This datathon is not expected to be a full-time commitment.
Each individual team will plan their own strategy as to how to use their time and resources most effectively across the duration of the datathon. Each team will have access to mentors for support.
About the Dataset
HMS has generously provided a HIPAA-Compliant Limited Data Set (HMS LDS) for this datathon. HMS coordinates benefits for multiple payers in the US and has granted access to eligibility/enrollment and administrative claims data (medical, pharmacy; all places of service) via the HMS LDS.
Datathon Details
The datathon will be held from Tuesday 1 to Tuesday 8 December (AEDT). After the event, HMS may choose to utilise assets produced as translational inputs to business processes.
Each datathon team will be comprised of five members (two data scientists and a health professional, student and project manager).
All individuals must complete an EOI and during the application process can nominate whether they wish to be assigned to a team, or if they are applying as part of an established team.
Prizes
At the end of the datathon, each team will present their challenge results to HMS for a share of the $15,000 AUD prize pool.
