Digital Health CRC is delighted to welcome its latest Participant, La Trobe University.
CEO of the Digital Health CRC, Dr Victor Pantano, welcomed La Trobe’s involvement in the CRC.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the fore the importance of digital health in meeting one of the biggest health challenges of our time. But there are many other areas of healthcare in which digital health will make a big impact – including preventive health,” he said.
“We are delighted to welcome La Trobe University as a Participant of our CRC, and we look forward to undertaking some important digital health research projects with them.”
La Trobe’s Chair in Digital Health, Professor James Boyd, said the initiative fosters collaborative research and development focused on transforming health service delivery, improving health outcomes, reducing waste in the health system, and building health businesses and jobs.
La Trobe’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Industry Engagement) Professor Susan Dodds said the University was pleased to be part of the DHCRC, an important innovative research program focused on finding solutions.
“As we know all too well in 2020, health is precious. We are also keenly aware that data is key to solving health problems,” Professor Dodds said.
“La Trobe joining the Digital Health CRC will allow us to contribute to sustainable new ways for governments and their health-provider partners to responsibly collect, manage, manipulate and analyse large and complex health datasets for the good of society as a whole,” Professor Dodds said.
