This month, the DHCRC signed a $1.2 million research project with South Australia’s Department of Health, GoAct Health Technologies and Flinders University to help develop systems to support mental health clinicians and patients with real-time information, advice and personalised self-help.
The project will explore the use of early warning signals that can trigger extra support for people with chronic mental illness, before their condition escalates into crisis. Methods will include combine self-reported mood and behavioural data from GoAct’s MindTick smartphone app, with health data collated in the government’s MyHealthRecord system, including prescriptions, medical consultations, appointments, hospitalisations and case management records.
